Vavilli

Vavili is a village built on a small plateau, as to the south rise Anemonas mountain range and to the southwest Sklavia hills. There is a small Byzantine museum with church items of great value and admirable icons from Panagia Krina monastery, which is very close to the village. Vavili has got many remarkable churches, thus conveying to the present a significant part of Chios’ religious tradition. Inside the village, it is worth seeing the impressive small church of Hypapanti.
