Neochori
Neochori is just a few kilometres away from Kampos and Chios town. There are medieval manuscripts referring to the village, but there is no evidence proving that it was indeed a medieval village. It is a relatively new settlement, something which is also implied by its name (neochori=new village). Locals are mostly farmers. The central church is dedicated to Virgin Mary (Panagia) and represents a characteristic example of 19th century local architecture. Close to Neochori, Agios Minas monastery is perched on a hill with a panoramic view over the village and the sea.
